Hosea 4: 6 says, "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge...." It's estimated that about 48 % of our American population attends some kind of church experience at some point during the year. Of those attending, only about 17 % actually attend on a consistent basis. No wonder Christians seem to lack in knowledge when it comes to doing life well.
It may not be that church leadership is doing such a bad job at imparting knowledge; it is probably that so few are there to get that knowledge on a consistent basis. Why? I believe that the answer may be found in one word: accountability. That's why we need more personal involvement on the part of the church body or members.
Coaching and mentoring may not be "the" answer, but it certainly is a big part of "the" answer. Why don't you (a mature, strong, committed, and fulfilled Believer) consider becoming a volunteer coach and mentor to another Believer who needs someone to come along side and help him/her grow in his/her faith? Make that decision today. Start holding each other accountable in your Christian walk. If you need suggestions or help, go to my profile and send me an email.
Start coaching and mentoring in the power of Christ and for His glory today!
