Our Father First in Relationships

Who is your best friend? Who do you live your life for? Who could you not live without? If you said, "My Heavenly Father," you are in there. Our Father must be first when it comes to our relationships. But how are relationships built?

First, it takes time, time with each other on a daily basis. What if we tithed our waking hours to our Father. That would be approximately an hour and a half everyday. Do we spend at least the first forty-five minutes of the day fellowshipping with our Heavenly Father? And do we spend the last forty-five minutes of the day in the presence of our Loving Father? If not, we are not even giving the minimal time necessary to building a phenomenal relationship with Him.

Second, it takes desire, desiring to be with each other every moment we can. I can promise that our Father loves spending time with us. He loves to share His heart with us. He enthusiastically wants to share His love with us. Our Father is the greatest encourager there is. Go to the Father today and ask Him what is on His heart. I bet you'll be surprised at His response. I'll give you a little hint: part of what's on His heart is you.

Third, it takes openness, opening up our very souls with each other. Open your heart to your Father. Believe me, He will not hurt...He cannot hurt...He will only Bless. Turn your life over to His care. He's an outstanding Father, far greater than any earthly father. He'll comfort you; He'll strengthen you; He'll engage you like nobody else. He'll share the deepest parts of Himself, if we just go searching.

Our Father is first in our relationships. Because He is, life can't be the same. Try it! Give Him the first and last forty-five minutes of everyday and experience real living.
