We find two statements that Paul made in IThessalonians Chapter 1 verse 2: "...we always thank God" and "...we remember you in our prayers." Every believer moving toward a mature and successful Christian life should be able to say that.
First, I should always be thankful. I am so blessed! God has been so good to me. In my troubles, He is there. In my successes, He's the cause. In my struggles, He's my strength. He empowers me. He engages me. He enchants me. He encourages me. He endows me. I can be thankful when things are great. I can be thankful when things are hard. I can be thankful when things are troubling. I can be thankful when things are sure. I'm thankful for His peace. I'm thankful for His love. I'm thankful for His power. I'm thankful for His call. "Thanks, God!"
Second, I should remember others in my prayers. Intercession! God gives us a mind to think of others. Someone has said that JOY means "Jesus first," "others second," "then you." Does a friend come to mind who needs something? Intercede! Does someone you love dearly come to mind who needs your prayers right now? Intercede! Do you know a soldier in Iraq? Intercede!
Let's thank God and let's intercede for others today! That's moving toward the life of success!
